MontavueGo Desktop is a very useful tool to view, playback, and manage your security cameras on site or remotely. If you are at a computer frequently at home or at work it could be useful to get a sound alert for motion detection or tripwire detection rather than relying solely on the MontavueGo2.0 mobile app.
How to set Sound Notifications
In order to do this make sure you have MontavueGo Desktop installed and your cameras/NVR added to it. Once you have the desktop app open, navigate to 'New' or '+' to get to the main page. From here go to 'Event Config'
Once you are in 'Event Config' select the drop down to the left of your NVR to list all of your cameras. If you don't have an NVR you can just click on the camera. Next select a camera, choose either Motion Detect, SMD(Human), SMD(Vehicle), Tripwire, or Intrusion. Chose the option that is best supported/configured in your camera(s). Then enable the event toggle and ''Alarm Sound'. Once you have done this you can go to the bottom right to save. You can select 'Copy To' to copy the selected event type to any other cameras. Be sure to save your settings!
Optionally, you can test the sound alerts by going to the gear icon in the top right hand side of the application to open 'System Config'.
Go to Device Manager and here you can select the channel event and click on the speaker icon to trigger the sound.
If you are feeling technical, you can use your own sounds for the alerts!
Create or download your own sound file (must be a .wav file) and save it to this directory on your PC:
C:\Program Files\MontavueGo\MontavueGo\sound
Once it is there, you can open MontavueGo and select your own sound file for the Event triggers.
